DIRECTOR OF SALES AND MARKETING

Chestnut Square at The Glen is an independent senior living community located in Glenview, IL, offering spacious floor plans, all-inclusive services and amenities, signature dining, cultural and recreational events, transportation, housekeeping, maintenance, and 24/7 concierge services. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Sales and Marketing to lead our sales and marketing efforts. This role is critical in driving business growth through effective strategy development, execution, and team leadership. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in sales and business development, with a proven ability to analyze market trends and negotiate successful deals.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary Sales Counselor, providing tours and marketing brochures as requested.
  • Together with the sales and marketing team, develop and implement all aspects of the sales and marketing plan, including conducting and coordinating lead management, delivering sales presentations, community networking, and managing the advertising and media plan.
  • Perform all sales closings and execution of contracts and paperwork.
  • Manage all resident transfers and refund requests according to policy, under the direction of the CEO.
  • Generate qualified leads to achieve or exceed occupancy goals through an effective sales and community outreach program.
  • Establish strong referral relationships and network with the community at large.
  • Assist in planning and executing networking events to engage key partners and referral sources.
  • Update Eldermark software with all contacts made with prospective and future residents.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Minimum three years of demonstrated experience in driving sales and achieving results, in senior living industry preferred.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent organizational skills, resident relations, problem-solving, and leadership ability.
  • Ability to present in a professional manner, display genuine concern for older adults, and maintain tact in dealing with others.
  • Computer literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.

DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

(FULL-TIME)

The primary purpose of this position is to assist with running operations of the community as directed by the CEO, ensuring the highest degree of quality services is maintained at all times.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Serve as liaison with residents, families, support departments, and others as necessary to adequately plan for the residents' needs, promoting an open-door policy.
  • Report issues and action items regularly to the CEO to ensure smooth and effective management of operations.
  • Oversee and assist new residents acclimate to the community.
  • Coordinate and serve as staff liaison to Resident Committees. Provide written / oral reports as required by the committee's guidelines or direction.
  • Serve as the liaison with the residents on all billing questions/issues to appropriate resolution.
  • Serve as backup to the Sales Director to provide tours and provide appropriate marketing brochures as requested.
  • Keep all marketing collaterals current at all times as prices, dates, and services provided change. Order marketing supplies and promotional goods.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing contact with future residents to schedule moves, provide information according to the established protocol, and answer questions as they arise.
  • Assist future residents in obtaining layout and measurements of the apartment; coordinate remodeling upgrade requests with the Sales Director.
  • Prepare closing paperwork and Welcome/Move-In Packets. Issue apartment keys; issue proximity card; assign storage unit; assign garage space and remote (if applicable); and provide & review the Welcome Packet. Provide walk-through of building & apartment.
  • Establish and maintain files for new residents.
  • Assist with onsite marketing events.
  • Provide all departments with specific details of future resident move-ins. Ensure the apartment is ready for move-in.
  • Serve as Concierge as assigned.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a related position. Prior experience in a retirement community/elder housing or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum high school diploma; Bachelor's degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Strong computer literacy skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to quickly learn new software programs.
  • Excellent customer support skills with the ability to communicate professionally and effectively with clients, vendors, and staff members.
  • Experience with front desk operations and providing exceptional customer service

HOUSEKEEPER 

(FULL-TIME)

Chestnut Square at The Glen is currently seeking qualified candidates for a full-time housekeeping position. The hours for the position are Monday to Friday from 8:00am—4:30pm.


Main Responsibilities: 

  • Clean all common areas, offices, and rooms by sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing. 
  • Empty and sanitize trash containers. 
  • Resupply paper dispensers. 
  • Move, rearrange, and dust furniture and fixtures. 
  • Wipe and polish exterior apartment doors, polish doorknobs and other fixtures. 
  • Vacuum the dining room and wipe tables and chairs. 
  • Mix and blend cleaning solutions to proper concentrations for each task. 
  • Clean and polish all entryway and lobby glass, doors and furniture; vacuum and mop entryway floor as needed; dust drapes and mini blinds as needed. 
  • Buff and polish highly visible and heavily used areas needing extra attention as needed. 
  • Water plants. 
  • Perform and assist in other assignments as needed, directed by the Maintenance Manager.


Requirements: 

  • Attend and participate in all staff meetings and keep information confidential as appropriate. 
  • Maintain a team approach toward all staff and be a strong team member as part of the facilities department. 
  • Develop good working relationships with all employees. 
  • Ability to understand and relate well to senior adults. 
  • Support the mission of Bethany Methodist by establishing positive relationships with residents, co-workers, managers and guests. 


Working Conditions: 

  • Exposure to chemicals and cleaning solvents. 
  • Work within multiple work environments and unsanitary conditions. 
  • Exposure to illnesses and frailties of tenants. 
  • Subject to frequent interruptions and changes in priorities as urgent needs arise that require immediate attention. 
  • Works among residents, family members, visitors, and staff in a variety of situations. 
  • Required to walk long distances and stand on feet for extended periods of time. 
  • Required to bend, stoop, and kneel for extended periods of time. 
  • Required to push and pull carts, vacuum cleaners, and other equipment and furniture. 
  • Physical ability to perform manual work. 
  • Regularly lift 20 lbs. and occasionally 40 lbs. Ability to bend and reach above shoulder height frequently.
